Hard Workers

While roaming the streets for this photography assignment, I couldn't

help but notice this was a common

sight in Singapore.

What had intrigued me was that, there was this strange feeling of foreign familiarity when I had actually paid attention to these hard working people. Then it hits me, I had grew so accustomed to seeing these people on my daily commute yet I know nothing about them at all.

In turn, I tried my best to go as close as

my unprotected human skull and steel

toe-less Doc martens could take me to capture these photos. (It's a construction site)  Hoping to learn beyond what the news or my mom could tell me.

I do applaud these photographers who

had gain access to create an in-dept documentation and change the perceptions of these foreign workers.

Fast forward a year, I was lucky to have to chance to take part in Global Citizenship module which includes a trip to Taiwan.

We were asked to pick a topic related to design in Singapore to share with our friends in Taiwan. Eager to fulfill my curiosity of both Singapore and Taiwan's building conservation scene, I suggested the 'The Revival of Old Buildings." and the rest is history. The following is an tiny part of our presentation slide designed by me.

Just for fun on my part, I've contributed to a silkscreened graphic inspired by Singapore's very own friendly sign as part of a meeting gift set for our Taiwan friends.
